Free Amazon AI training.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is undoubtedly the most transformative technology of our generation. In response to the growing demand for specialists in this field, Amazon announced its ambitious “AI Ready” commitment, which aims to provide free AI skills training to 2 million people worldwide by 2025. This initiative seeks to remove financial barriers and democratize access to knowledge that is becoming essential in the job market.
While writing an article about implementing AI in institutions, I searched for the term “AI Ready,” and I was not disappointed. Many other companies offer similar programs.

Dlaczego Amazon zdecydował się na tworzenie bezpłatnych kursów AI?
Amazon’s decision is a direct response to the findings of a study conducted by AWS and the research firm Access Partnership. The study found that as many as 73% of employers consider hiring talent with AI skills a priority. At the same time, three out of four of these companies admit that they have difficulty finding suitably qualified candidates.
What’s more, the study highlights the enormous financial potential for employees who choose to develop in this direction. Employers anticipate that individuals with artificial intelligence skills can expect earnings up to 47% higher. Over the next five years, as many as 93% of companies expect to use AI solutions throughout their entire organization, further increasing the need to build a competent workforce.
In Poland, it is estimated that approximately 30% of jobs can be automated to varying degrees. Approximately 70% of office and administrative work can easily be performed by AI. New skills are therefore essential.
Three-Pillar “AI Ready” Program
To achieve its goal, Amazon is launching three new, key initiatives:
- Eight New, Free AI and Generative AI Courses: Available to everyone, these courses cover a wide range of topics, from beginner to advanced levels, and are aimed at both business leaders and technical professionals.
- AWS Generative AI Scholarship: In collaboration with the Udacity platform, Amazon will allocate more than $12 million in scholarships for over 50,000 high school and college students from underrepresented communities worldwide.
- Partnership with Code.org: The new initiative aims to introduce students to the concepts of generative artificial intelligence in an accessible and engaging way, including through the “Hour of Code Dance Party: AI Edition” event.
A Wide Range of Courses for Everyone
As part of the “AI Ready” program, Amazon offers courses tailored to different roles and levels of proficiency.
For business leaders and non-technical individuals:
- Introduction to Generative Artificial Intelligence: A course covering basic concepts, applications, and foundation models.
- Generative AI Learning Plan for Decision-Makers: A series of three courses on planning AI projects and building an organization ready to implement these technologies.
- Introduction to Amazon CodeWhisperer: Training on using Amazon’s AI-powered code generator.
For developers and technical specialists:
- Prompt Engineering Fundamentals: A course covering everything from the basics to advanced techniques for designing prompts for AI tools.
- Building Language Models on AWS: Training on using Amazon SageMaker libraries to create and fine-tune language models.
- Creating Generative AI Applications Using Amazon Bedrock: A practical course on building applications with this service.
- And other specialized courses, such as Low-Code Machine Learning on AWS and Amazon Transcribe—Getting Started.
Education Through Play
Amazon focuses not only on traditional courses, but also on innovative, interactive teaching methods. Research confirms that game-based learning (gamification) leads to better results and greater engagement. That is why, as part of the AWS Skill Builder platform, the company offers eight game-based learning experiences that enable users to develop cloud and AI skills in a practical way.
The most interesting proposals include:
- AWS Cloud Quest: A flagship training experience in which the player takes on the role of a cloud specialist (e.g., a solutions architect or machine learning specialist), solves real-world business problems for virtual customers, and builds solutions in the AWS environment. New generative AI tasks have recently been added, such as creating chatbots and generating images from text.
- AWS Industry Quest: A game focused on solving challenges specific to a given industry, such as financial services, healthcare, or automotive.
- AWS Escape Room: A virtual puzzle room that helps users prepare for AWS certification exams in an interactive way.
- AWS SimuLearn: A generative AI-powered simulator (Amazon Bedrock) that allows users to practice conversations with customers and translating their business problems into technical solutions.
. . .
The games are heavily oriented toward Amazon’s cloud service. Therefore, if you do not intend to use Bezos’s servers, these games do not make much sense. They are fairly simple games based on quizzes.
.
The “AI Ready” initiative is part of AWS’s broader commitment to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in free cloud computing training for 29 million people by 2025—a goal under which more than 21 million people have already been trained. By combining accessible courses, scholarships, and innovative teaching methods, Amazon is not only responding to market needs but also actively shaping a future in which advanced technology skills are available to anyone willing to learn.
Amazon AI opinions, review, and summary
Amazon’s courses are intended for people who want to become AI specialists. They require basic knowledge of how AI works, as well as a certain level of commitment. All of them are focused on Amazon’s services.
So if you are just beginning to explore AI and are not sure whether you want to fully commit to it, Amazon’s course is not the best option to start with. It does not cover a range of tools from other companies, nor does it immediately provide the basics of prompt engineering, image generation, or practical applications.
If you intend to become an AI specialist, this is a good solution.
