Google Gemini can create AI presentations. It’s a major game changer.

Google Gemini może tworzyć prezentacje AI. Jest to duży gamechanger.

Creating presentations with artificial intelligence is one of the better applications of AI. In fact, it is often a rather tedious and mechanical task, especially when we already have the text prepared and the research completed.

There are, of course, presentations that need to be highly polished; in such cases, the entire presentation still has to be created manually. However, in many cases, AI can create a solid foundation for such a presentation.

How to Create Presentations in Google Gemini?

Simply select the “Canvas” mode in Gemini and request a presentation format in the prompt.

. .

The effect is quite surprising.

.

If we want Google not to add its own text, we can ask it to stick to the text we provided.

. .

Most importantly, we can open the slides in Google’s presentation tool, which means we can edit them freely.

.

You should start in Gemini, not in presentations.

Currently, this is the only way to create presentations using AI from Google. Gemini is unable to create presentations on its own in Google Slides, even if we have premium versions with Gemini implemented directly into the tool.

Presentations in Google Gemini – Disadvantages, Opinions, and Reviews

The first presentation creates a “wow” effect. But will this tool actually stand the test in practice with regular use? In short, absolutely, although it is important to bear a few limitations in mind.

  • Gemini can make mistakes, and sometimes a slide is not properly laid out
  • Sometimes a presentation slide may contain factual errors, or important information may be omitted
  • The presentation layout is fairly standard. Patterns and bias are already apparent after just 3 presentations

Minor errors (which can be fixed manually).

In this case, the text overlaps itself.

.

That is precisely why the ability to edit what AI creates is crucial. In this case, fixing the error took me literally 7 seconds.

.

Errors in Content Selection.

The slide that impressed me earlier turned out to be somewhat inaccurate and not entirely consistent with the text. The slogan itself is brilliant, but it does not capture the essence of the text, because the offer also includes creating business card websites/informational websites, which can be cheaper. Not everyone needs to actively acquire customers through online traffic. But I will definitely use this slogan for an offer focused specifically on creating sales websites.

Schematic layout.

A quick comparison of slides from three presentations reveals many similarities. First of all, I noticed the timeline, which always consists of four elements. The longer you analyze it, the more similarities you see.

Of course, presentations made 100% by humans also have many elements in common. However, in this case, the number of available “building blocks” is too small. Each type of slide (e.g., title + list, double list, large number, etc.) can be configured in many ways, whereas Google only changes the color.

.

As with the previous issues, this can be easily fixed manually.

Licensing issue with the photos used.

At the end of the presentation, Google includes links to the pages from which the photos used originate.

.

The problem is that these are not always aggregators of free photos that can be used freely (such as Unsplash or Wikimedia resources); the links also do not lead to stock services with which Google might have an agreement.

In this case, the first link leads to some application’s blog. In the second case, the image comes from a free AI-generated image website (https://stockcake.com/). The link leads to a specific image, not to the website. While reaching the homepage based on these links is straightforward, the problem arises when the images on a single website have different licenses.

This means that, by default, these presentations cannot be shared publicly and may only be used internally. Unless the photos are replaced manually.

Benefits of AI-Generated Presentations

Automatic presentation creation saves a great deal of time. Especially since transforming text in the form of short bullet points into presentations is often a laborious task. There are already several tools for this, but Google’s offering is highly capable, easy to use, and requires no fuss.

Presentations for oneself, presentations as notes, a learning aid.

Creating presentations manually takes a relatively long time, which is why until now they have only been created when there was a need to convey information to other people in a concise form.

Since AI can create presentations in a dozen seconds, it makes sense to create presentations for yourself as a study aid. This means that any topic can be presented in the form of a presentation. In such a case, presentations can be treated as notes or flashcards.

This example clearly demonstrates the general capabilities and benefits of artificial intelligence. In addition to simply speeding up tasks that we need to do anyway, AI makes it worthwhile and cost-effective to do extra things that make life easier.

Other AI Presentation-Making Tools

Programs for creating presentations, based on artificial intelligence, have existed for a long time. One of them is, for example, Gamma.app (an application for creating presentations and websites), or Napkin.ai. Additionally, presentations can be created using a range of tools designed for creating websites (e.g. Bolt.new), or any coding canvas in an LLM, such as Claude, Grok, or the aforementioned Gemini).

ChatGPT can also generate files with various extensions, such as PDF or PPTX. These files can then be edited in PowerPoint or Canva.
